On November 11, Messmer shared his involvement at a local celebration: "I always enjoy honoring our veterans at Posey County’s Council on Aging’s Veterans Day event by playing the American National Anthem on my trumpet. Thank you for your service and thank you for including me in this wonderful celebration!" He followed up later that day with another message from Gibson County: "I was honored to join our great veterans in Gibson County today! I will always protect the federal benefits they so richly deserve! Thank you for your service!"
The next day, Messmer turned his attention to agricultural constituents: "Privileged to meet with hardworking farmers in Daviess County! I am honored to fight for Hoosier agriculture producers in #IN08 and across the United States! "
Messmer has previously emphasized support for both veterans and agriculture as key priorities during his tenure. Indiana's 8th district includes rural areas where farming is an important part of the economy, and many residents are military veterans or their family members.
