Congressman Mark Messmer has recently used his social media platform to highlight local achievements and respond to national incidents. Messmer, who represents Indiana's 8th congressional district, posted a series of tweets from August 26 to August 28, 2025.

On August 26, Messmer praised the work being done at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NAVSEA Crane), stating "#IN08 is proud to host the men and women at @NAVSEACrane who work hard to keep our troops safe at home and abroad!"

The following day, he addressed a violent incident involving students and parishioners in Minneapolis, writing on August 27: "My prayers are with the victims of the senseless violence against the students & parishioners of Annunciation Church in Minneapolis. Catholic churches are sanctuaries for the soul and no child should fear for their safety when in the House of God. May the Lord bless them all."

On August 28, Messmer visited a local community initiative and commented on their efforts: "Had a great time seeing the incredible work the amazing team at the Community Action Program of Evansville and Vanderburgh County is doing for #IN08! "

Messmer's recent posts reflect his focus on both supporting defense-related activities within his district and expressing concern over broader national issues affecting religious communities. As a member of Congress representing Indiana's southwestern region, Messmer often uses social media to communicate directly with constituents about local programs, security matters, and events impacting faith-based organizations.
