Rep. Mark Messmer (R-IN) has announced his sponsorship of the Abraham Accords Defense Against Terror Act. The legislation, introduced by Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), aims to strengthen military support for countries normalizing relations with Israel and reducing Iranian influence in the Middle East.
"President Trump is the most pro-Israel president in modern American history, and his record as a dealmaker is proving effective in the ongoing negotiation of the Abraham Accords," said Rep. Messmer. "I am proud to sponsor this House legislation and support the military alliances forged by President Trump between America, Israel, and our Middle Eastern partners as we unite to end the reign of terror which has long tormented the region."
The bill aligns with President Trump's security assistance policy towards the Middle East and North Africa, enhancing protection for countries that normalize relations with Israel while countering Iran's influence.
