On September 8, Messmer highlighted progress on a major regional infrastructure project, stating: "Today I had the privilege to host @SecDuffy and other IN and KY leaders in #IN08 to unveil great progress in the I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project. Indiana truly is the Crossroads of America—linking important national trade routes and supporting billion$ in economic growth!" The I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project is a significant initiative aimed at improving transportation connectivity between Indiana and Kentucky, with anticipated benefits for commerce and regional mobility.

Two days later, on September 10, Messmer addressed an incident involving Charlie Kirk. In one post he wrote: "My prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family after this horrendous attack. May God protect him in his time of need. Political violence has to end now!" Later that day, he followed up with another message: "Kim and I are devastated by the news of Charlie Kirk’s murder and we will pray for Erika and their beautiful children in their time of deepest grief."

The I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project has been identified as a key component for facilitating interstate travel and enhancing economic opportunities across state lines. It is part of broader efforts to upgrade U.S. infrastructure, which have been ongoing for several years through collaborations between federal, state, and local officials.
