Jones' 33 Points Lead Wabash Past Denison 74-66
Junior forward Ahmoni Jones nailed a dagger 3-pointer with 1:52 left in the game as part of a 33-point effort to put Wabash ahead 65-58. The Little Giants eventually secured a 74-66 victory over the Denison University Big Red at home Saturday in North Coast Athletic Conference action.
Wabash (7-2, 2-0 NCAC) had two players score in double figures, led by Jones, who recorded a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. Edreece Redmond scored 12 points, and Sam Comer added nine points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks.

How It Happened
Wabash took an early 9-4 lead before going cold from the field. The Little Giants made just three shots in their subsequent 21 attempts to trail Denison 18-13. Denison (4-5, 1-2 NCAC) extended the lead to its largest of the game at nine points, 23-14, with a basket from Nick Heath on a steal and dunk.
Wabash cut the lead to 25-18 at the 4:13 mark of the first period before going on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 25-25. Avery Beaver tied the score again at 29-29 with a jumper in the lane after the Big Red regained a two-point lead. The Little Giants grabbed a 31-29 lead heading into halftime on a basket from Redmond after a turnover on an inbound pass by Denison. Wabash capitalized on five Denison turnovers in the period, turning them into eight points on the other end of the floor.
Following intermission, Wabash kept widening that lead, expanding it to 55-52 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Redmond's three, to grow the lead to 60-52 with 4:51 to go in the contest. The Big Red drew as close as four points at 62-58 with 2:18 left on the clock before Jones nailed his biggest three-pointer of the game to put Wabash up 65-58 with 1:52 remaining. The Little Giants maintained the advantage by making nine of their final ten free throws in the closing two minutes.
Wabash made the most of eight offensive rebounds to tack on nine second-chance points out of 43 total in the period.
